Privacy Policy
I collect what you send me so I can write back, plus basic analytics so I know which pages are doing their job. I do not sell it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers.
What I collect
What you hand me directly
When you fill out the contact form on this site, I receive your name, your email address, your city and state, the kind of project you picked, whatever you wrote in the message box, and your phone number if you chose to give one. The phone field is optional and the form works without it.
If you become a client and I send you the project intake form, that form collects business details: your business name, address, hours, services, pricing, service areas, existing website and listings, and any logos or photos you choose to upload. That form is private and is not linked from anywhere on this site.
If you call or text the studio line, or email me directly, I have whatever you sent and whatever your carrier or email provider shows me, which is normally your phone number or email address.
What gets recorded automatically
Like almost every website, this one records some technical information when you visit: which pages you looked at, roughly where you were when you loaded them, what kind of device and browser you used, how you got here, and whether you tapped the phone number or the email link. That last part is how I know whether the site is actually producing calls instead of just traffic.
What I use it for
- Writing you back, quoting your project, and doing the work you hired me for.
- Following up if you asked me a question and I have not answered it yet.
- Understanding which pages bring in real inquiries so I can improve the ones that do not.
- Keeping the site running, fixing what breaks, and blocking spam submissions.
What I never do with it
I do not sell your information. I do not rent it, trade it, or contribute it to a shared marketing list. I do not run retargeting pixels, so filling out this form will not cause my ads to follow you around the internet. I do not buy contact lists either, which means if I email you, it is because you contacted me first or we already work together.
Analytics and cookies
This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies in your browser so it can tell a returning visitor from a new one. It reports to me in aggregate: page views, general location at the city or region level, device type, and the handful of actions I track, like a tap on the phone number. Google Analytics does not store full IP addresses, and I cannot see who you are from it.
If you would rather not be counted, you have a few options. Most browsers let you block or clear cookies in their settings. Google also publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics everywhere at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Opting out will not break anything on this site.
Beyond analytics, this site does not set advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites.
Things this site loads from elsewhere
The fonts on this site are served by Google Fonts, which means Google receives a request from your browser when a page loads. That request includes your IP address, the same as any other file your browser fetches. The intake form uses a file upload service so clients can send me logos and photos without email attachment limits.
Who else handles your information
I am one person, but a few services sit between you and me. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job, and none of them are permitted to use your information for their own marketing.
- Netlify hosts this site and delivers contact form submissions to me.
- Google provides the analytics described above, serves the fonts, and stores project intake responses in my private Google account.
- My phone and messaging provider handles calls, voicemail, and text messages sent to the studio line.
- My email provider handles email sent to and from cross@crossdesigned.com.
I will also disclose information if the law actually requires it, which has not happened and which I would tell you about if I were permitted to.
Calls and text messages
The studio line at (786) 841-8475 accepts calls, voicemail, and text messages. If you text it, standard message and data rates from your carrier apply. I use that number to answer you and to talk about your project. I do not send marketing or promotional texts, and I do not add your number to any texting list. If you would rather I only ever email you, say so and that is what I will do.
How long I keep it
Inquiries that never turn into projects get cleared out periodically, usually within about a year. Client records stick around longer, because I need them to support the site I built you and because some of it is business bookkeeping I am required to retain. Analytics data expires on Google's own schedule and is not tied to you personally. If you want your information gone sooner, ask.
How it is protected
This site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the form is encrypted on the way to me. Form submissions and intake responses sit in accounts that only I can open, secured with strong passwords and two-factor authentication. No system is perfect and I will not pretend otherwise, but nothing here is handled casually.
Your choices
You can ask me what information I have about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or ask me to stop contacting you. Email cross@crossdesigned.com and I will handle it myself, normally the same day and always within thirty days. There is no form to fill out and no account to log into. I honor these requests for everyone who asks, regardless of what state or country you live in and whether or not a law requires it of me.
Children
This is a website for business owners. It is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under thirteen. If you believe a child sent me something, email me and I will delete it.
Visitors outside the United States
I work from Florida and the services I use store data in the United States. If you contact me from somewhere else, your information is coming here. The rights described above are available to you either way.
Changes to this policy
If I start using a new tool or collecting something new, I will update this page and change the date at the top. There is no version where I quietly start selling your information and bury it in a revision.
Questions
Ask me directly. Email cross@crossdesigned.com or call (786) 841-8475. A real person answers, and it is me.
Cross Designs, Kendall, South Florida.
Still have a question about your information?
Email me and ask. I answer these myself, and there is no form standing in the way.
